Kensington launches range of mice for dedicated desktop users

01/01/2007

Kensington, the computer accessories company, has launched a new range of mice for users that are often forgotten in the design stakes – the desk-based worker.

The new range, which includes the Ci60 Optical Mouse, the Ci60 Wireless Optical Mouse and the Si300 Laser Mouse, is specifically designed with the home or office desktop user in mind. In the perceived era of the mobile worker, a majority of employees still work solely from the desktop. Kensington wanted to provide the static worker with mice that have the same advanced technology as the peripherals designed for the mobile market.

Over the years, mouse design has become more in tune with users’ needs,” commented Phil O’Neill, vice-president for Europe at Kensington. “Kensington is keen to ensure that all professionals benefit from new technology, no matter where they chose to work.”

“The new range takes into consideration the fact that the user will be working for long periods of time at their computer. For the desktop worker, the mice are fully featured, more substantial and have rubberised grips for comfort.”

Ci20 Optical Mouse (£xx.xx): Uses DiamondEye® optical technology to provide excellent control. It has five programmable buttons that can be customised to prioritise important tasks such as launching applications or navigating websites.

Ci60 Wireless Optical Mouse (£xx.xx): Uses QuickRF™ wireless technology to avoid cluttering the desk with wires. Like the Ci20, it uses DiamondEye® optical cursor tracking for precision.

Si300 Laser Mouse (£xx.xx): Uses advanced laser tracking with 20 times the surface sensitivity of optical technology. It is designed for both left- and right-handed users, and has a four-way tilt scroll wheel for ease-of-use.

The mice are available from a number of online retailers, including: www.misco.co.uk, www.PCWB.co.uk and www.amazon.co.uk.
