As you may or may not be aware, February 28 is international RSI day. Kensington, the computer accessories company, is dedicated to helping prevent RSI among the ever-growing population of computer users.

I wondered if you, as a fervent computer user, might value some help with preventing cramped muscles and tense joints? Good RSI prevention starts with a well-equiped desktop. Make sure your screen is at the right height, your peripherals are ergonomic and that, when traveling, you use wireless accessories with your laptop to keep strain levels down.

Besides offering a range of ergonomic accessories that can help you create a healthy working space, here’s an exercise from Kensington that keeps your muscles relaxed and your grip loose – without making you look like an idiot while doing it ;-)

This is an exercise to stretch your neck and back while working from a desktop:

• Place your hands on the table and slowly lift your upper body until you are sitting with your back completely straight
• Move your head towards the ceiling, as if someone is pulling you up like a puppet
• Stay in this position for 10 seconds then slowly lower your upper body
• Repeat this exercise at least three times a day
