Keep, track and get back the items you can’t afford to lose
Sydney, Australia – January 9, 2013 Kensington, a worldwide leader in delivering mobile device accessories, today redefined the way in which we look for our things, with the introduction of Proximo at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Proximo, an app–enabled monitoring system, lets iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S owners keep, track and get back those things that are most important to them, like their smartphone, keys and other valuables.
“Australians depend on and cherish their devices”, said Sam Goldstein manager, marketing and business development, Kensington Australia. “Our devices are such an important part of our lives that there is a real sense of loss when they go missing. Proximo gives you absolute peace of mind, so you don’t have to worry about losing your phone or valuables.”
Proximo works via a Fob that attaches to your keys and a Tag that you can attach to any important items you don’t want to lose. An online app then allows you to track your iPhone and tagged valuables, wherever you are.
Using Bluetooth Smart Technology®, ProximoÔ establishes a wireless connection between up to five of your personal items to see at a glance where you last left your keys or iPhone. The proximity distance (sensitivity) of each key Fob and Tag can be adapted to suit the location and can even be turned off altogether if you know your items will be safe for an extended period of time.
The Proximo iPhone app allows you to create a customised name, photo and sound effect for each of your items, making it easy to keep track of all your important stuff. Once set up, an alarm will be triggered the moment you move a set distance from your valuables.
For today’s always on mobile users, a smartphone is more than just expensive to replace—it is often the “keeper” of a huge amount of personal, confidential and work related information too.
A Symantec report from March 2012 showed Australian businesses lost an estimated $138 million from data breaches in 2011, while lost or stolen devices were reported as the most common factor in 32 per cent of all local data breaches. [1] With the assurance of an extended battery life of up to six months, Proximo offers a solution to this problem, meaning you’ll never leave anything important behind again.
“When you consider the threat to the personal information on items such as your iPhone, as well as the cost of recovering it, Proximo makes good sense for all of us, from a privacy, financial and sentimental point of view,” Goldstein added.
