Kensington extends its industry leading ClickSafe security portfolio to electronic point of sale devices
SYDNEY – 03 March, 2012 – Building on its expertise in physical security for computers, smartphones and tablets, Kensington Computer Products Group has now extended its ClickSafe security portfolio to electronic point of sale (POS) devices. The Kensington ClickSafe Security Anchor is now available to physically secure EFTPOS terminals, providing peace of mind for consumers and organisations such as retail outlets, banks and small businesses.
As Australia continues to move towards a cashless society, more consumers now favour electronic payment options for transactions. While EFTPOS terminals provide convenience for consumers and businesses alike, customers are increasingly aware of the risks they face from EFTPOS terminal tampering.
“Physical security of EFTPOS terminals and point of sale devices should be a central aspect of every business’ strategy to combat fraud,” said Sam Goldstein, manager – marketing and business development, Kensington. “The Kensington ClickSafe Security Anchor or
Adhesive Anchor provides businesses with a simple and dependable way to physically lock POS devices, protecting them against theft but without compromising customer access or flexibility of use.”
Kensington’s ClickSafe Security Anchor POS security initiative comes at a time when retailers and small businesses are becoming more educated about fraud resulting from the theft of POS devices, especially those containing customer transaction data. Chip and PIN devices are small and easy to conceal, making them a target for opportunistic theft, and leave retailers vulnerable to business downtime, profit loss and reputation damage.
Similarly, consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the threats they face from card skimming and that unsecured terminals can put them at risk. In an era of phishing scams, online banking spyware and identity theft, everyday Australians are more mindful of their financial security and protection of personal information.
“The Kensington brand is synonymous with the toughest physical security available for mobile IT devices. Building on this legacy, we are proud to offer Kensington’s industry leading ClickSafe locking technology to businesses for their growing range of highly-portable, high-value equipment, such as EFTPOS terminals,” said Goldstein.
Kensington Computer Products Group will be located at stand 11 at Cards and Payments Australasia, held in Sydney between 20-21 March, 2012.
