New Program Will Provide Industry-Leading Products at Special Prices to Help Expand System Builder Offerings
Kensington Technology Group, the leading maker of accessories that make using computers more comfortable and productive, launched today a new program that will provide exclusive product offerings to makers of non-branded personal computer systems. Kensington, which enjoyed a significant boost in sales and retail placements in 2003, introduced the program to "white box" VARs here at the System Builder Summit™, an invitation-only event for market-leading system builders representing annual unit sales of more than 2.5 million.
Beginning immediately, system builders can register for the new Kensington program at www.reseller.kensington.com. Registering makes them eligible to receive free sample products and for participation in Kensington's Five Percent Loyalty Program.
"Obviously this is a tremendous opportunity for us to provide our industry-leading products to a very important group of VARs," said Tom Russo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kensington Technology Group. "Our new program is designed to make it easy for system builders to expand their product offerings and create new, loyal customers in education, government, and small and midsize businesses."
As part of its System Builder Program, Kensington is offering exclusive prices on 10-packs of its leading input devices, including the Kensington Wireless Optical Mouse, Laptop Optical Mouse, Keyboard in a Box, and Multimedia Keyboard. All products in the program are hassle-free, plug-in-play units backed by The Kensington PromiseSM, which includes a five-year warranty and free technical support
System Builders - also known as white box builders, local value-added resellers and system integrators - assemble and manufacture non-branded PCs, which accounted for more than 27 percent of all PCs sold in the U.S. in 2002, according to International Data Corporation (IDC). Generating nearly $3 billion in sales, the system builder community was second only to Dell in terms of PC market share in 2002 (IDC). According to National Association of System Builders and Integrators, there are about 26,000 system builders in the U.S. and Canada.
