Latest in Kensington's best selling line of FM Transmitters
Kensington Computer Products Group, a leading computer and iPod accessory company, today introduced the RDS FM Transmitter/Car Charger for iPod, the newest addition to its award-winning line of FM Transmitters for the iPod.
The patent-pending Kensington RDS FM Transmitter is the first of its kind, allowing song and artist information from the iPod to be transmitted to the display of an RDS enabled car radio. The Kensington RDS FM Transmitter also takes advantage of patented ClearFM technology*, which transmits the clearest audio signal from the iPod to a nearby car stereo.

What is RDS (Radio Data System) Technology?
Radio Data System (RDS) is a worldwide industry standard for FM radio communication. This standard was developed in Europe in the 1980's and was adopted as a standard in the US in 1993. RDS allows an FM radio broadcaster, along with a normal music signal, to send text messages on an FM sub-frequency. RDS feature allows text, such as song title and artist name to be displayed on RDS-enabled radios. The Kensington RDS FM Transmitter digitizes song information from the iPod and sends it via RDS to a car radio (along with music).
