Trademark Licensing Agreement Allows Kensington to Use LiquiCell® Technology in its New Advanced Seat Rest
LiquiCell Technologies, Inc., a leading manufacturer of comfort materials, and Kensington Technology Group, the leading maker of accessories that make using computers more comfortable and productive, announced today a licensing agreement that allows Kensington to develop products with LiquiCell®, an advanced comfort technology that uses thin liquid-filled cells to reduce pressure on the body.
As part of the agreement, Kensington will introduce next month the Kensington LiquiCell Seat Rest, which incorporates LiquiCell technology and is specifically designed to improve the comfort and productivity of anyone sitting in an office chair.
LiquiCell uses an innovative combination of a low viscosity fluid and strategically placed seal points that control the flow of liquid and relieve discomfort experienced over time when your body is in contact with another object. These thin liquid-filled cells equalize vertical pressure at the point of contact (and thus reduce pressure), while minimizing the compression of your body's soft tissue. This also significantly reduces skin friction and soft tissue shear stress, two of the most significant factors related to discomfort.
"No matter what we're creating, our goal is to make the absolute best products available, and adding LiquiCell technology to our Kensington Seat Rest has enabled us to make the best seat rest on the market today," said Don Angel, Vice President of Product Management, Kensington Technology Group. "When you sit down at your desk at work - or anywhere else for that matter - the Kensington Seat Rest with LiquiCell will reduce the stress on your body, make you more comfortable, and allow you to do more of what you're sitting down to do."
The Kensington LiquiCell Seat Rest will be available at major office supply retailers, leading resellers, and www.kensington.com with an MSRP of $44.95. As with all of its products, the Kensington LiquiCell Seat Rest will be covered by the Kensington Promise, which includes a limited lifetime warranty and free customer service.
The Kensington LiquiCell Seat Rest and other future Kensington products using LiquiCell technology will communicate the LiquiCell trademark, as part of the agreement.
"LiquiCell has successfully provided comfort in various other applications, such as wheelchair cushions, athletic equipment and footwear," said Mike Arbeiter, president and founder of LiquiCell Technologies, Inc. "We are excited to partner with Kensington to make a bigger impact in the ergonomic and office seating industries."
